Fishing Off of Long Island Shores

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The Inn At Fox Hollow is just minutes away from many Long Island beaches and waterways and some of the world’s finest fishing is done right off of the Island’s shores. One of the great things about Long Island is that there are plenty of charter boats that take both individuals and groups out for full and half day fishing trips.  Many of the boats take the general public out daily; however, one may also do private charters with many of the boat’s captains. A wide array of fish can be caught throughout the year but there are seasons when one or several types of fish may dominate the waters. During the summer months and into the early fall one can expect such fish as Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Flounder, Porgies, Weakfish and more. The nearest fleet of charter boats from The Inn At Fox Hollow Hotel is located at Captree State Park. For more information on fishing off of Long Island please visit the following link:  www.captreefleet.com. Enjoy your stay at The Inn At Fox Hollow Hotel and your fishing trip on Long Island… Good luck!

The Hamptons, Long Island, New York

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

The Hamptons of Long Island have become very well known as the playground of New York’s rich and famous; however, there is something there for all to see, experience and enjoy. A great way to experience the Hamptons is to take a day trip out east to the Island’s South Fork. From The Inn At Fox Hollow located in Woodbury one can reach the Hamptons by car in less than an hour. Depending on which part of the Hamptons one plans on visiting the trip may take a bit longer but for the most part, timing is everything. The Hamptons typically gets very busy and a little congested during the summer weekends so one may want to consider heading out east during the week (Sunday - Thursday). That’s one way to steer clear of the infamous Hampton traffic.

The Hamptons is known for its quaint villages and of course their world famous beaches. Towns such as Southampton, East Hampton and Sag Harbor offer a wide array of activities and places of interest such as their downtown shops, restaurants, museums and parks. They offer quaint picturesque settings that are difficult to find anywhere else. They are truly unique.

If one is considering a trip to the Hamptons consider staying with The Inn At Fox Hollow for the upscale amenites and services without spending the typical Hampton prices. Again, a day trip or two out to the Hamptons can be just as fun as actaully staying out there. View more information on the Hamptons to help plan your next day trip.
